Field Trip Report – CHEC at Alligator Creek 11-15-22

What a nice walk with PRAS members and friends at the environmental center. Luckily there were enough trails that were dry enough for birding and we saw; Catbirds, Yellow-rumped, Pine, and Yellow-throated Warblers, Osprey, Great Egrets, 17 species in all. Chris Salmonson has a great deal of knowledge about the history of PRAS and CHEC, as well as the natural communities we passed through. We stopped at the new bird blind, and the new butterfly habitat that is under construction. As a special treat we ended up our visit watching the footage of the animals that were caught on the night vision camera at CHEC. It is always nice to have the chance to visit with our PRAS friends as we enjoy the outdoors.
